ウィリアム エグルストン：パリ－京都　展覧会図録

2010年6月5日－8月22日まで、原美術館にて開催の展覧会図録。
カラー写真を芸術的表現の域にまで高めた先駆者であるアメリカの写真家、ウィリアム エグルストンの、日本の美術館における初個展図録です。カルティエ現代美術財団の依頼を受けて撮影した、円熟味を感じさせる近作である二つのシリーズ、「パリ」と「京都」、初期の代表作「ウィリアム エグルストンズ ガイド」の三つのシリーズの作品図版をセレクトして掲載しています。色彩の詩人、ウィリアム エグルストンの豊かな表現の世界をお楽しみください。
カルティエ図録「William Eggleston: Paris」と合わせて楽しんでいただけるよう、本書は展覧会場の記録写真を盛り込んだ編集で、担当学芸員による解説、出品作品リスト、作家略歴、展覧会略歴、主な著作の紹介等資料を掲載しています。

This is the exhibition catalogue for the first solo exhibition in Japan, held from June 5 to August 22, 2010, of William Eggleston, the American photographer who is credited with bringing color photography into the realm of art.
Featured in this catalogue are images from two recent series Paris and Kyoto, both commissioned by the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contempoarin, Paris, as well as works from William Eggleston’s Guide, the seminal work produced by Eggleston early in his career. This catalogue is the companion volume to the William Eggleston: Paris catalogue published by the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Paris. It consists mainly of installation views that serve as a documentary record of the show.
