蜷川実花：Self-image　展覧会図録

2015年1月24日－5月10日まで、原美術館にて開催の展覧会図録。
極彩色の鮮烈な写真で知られる蜷川実花は、「蜷川カラー」と呼ばれるその色とともに、明るく開放的な作品が人気を博す一方で、華やかさや幸福感と隣り合わせにある歪みや澱み、衰退の影や死の気配が写り込む作品も制作してきました。
本書では、そのような生のはかなさ漂う『noir』シリーズと川面に散る桜を収めた『PLANT A TREE』、そして初期から断続的に撮影してきたモノクロームのセルフポートレイトを中心に、「生身に近い、何も武装していない」と作家自身が語る特別な写真群（＝Self-image）を紹介し、蜷川実花作品の新たな魅力を提示しています。

This is the catalogue of the exhibition held from January 24 to May 10, 2015 at the Hara Museum of Contemporary Art. The photographer Mika Ninagawa has enjoyed great popularity for the bright openness of her photographs and the vibrancy of her colors dubbed "Ninagawa Color." These stand in stark contrast to a parallel line of work on the themes of distortion, decline, stagnation and even death.
For this exhibition, the artist personally selected works from her noir series, a study of raw transience; her PLANT A TREE series of cherry blossoms scattered on the surface of river; and her series o monochrome self-portraits that she has created intermittently since the start of her career. Together they present a "self-image" described by the artist as being "close to her raw and unguarded self."
In addition to color plates of works in the show, this catalogue includes an essay by Minoru Shimizu, an interview with the artist by Shimada Kotaro and installation views of the exhibition. Hardcover with 144 pages and text in both Japanese and English.
